Advantages of CNC Brass Parts

Good conductor of heat

Being a mixture of cu and zn, brass alloy has a high thermal conductivity of 146.87 w/m.K, and thermal conductivity is the factor that decides the heat conduction capability of a material, so brass is a good conductor of heat, it can transfer the heat rapidly.

Corrosion resistance

Brass resists corrosion, it has very good corrosion resistance in most atmospheric applications, and certain brass alloys can even work well in seawater.

Durability

Brass has been used for centuries for various purposes, including jewelry, musical instruments, and home decor. It is one of the most durable metals.

Aesthetic appeal

The distinctive golden appearance of brass gives it an aesthetic appeal, which makes it popular to use in applications that require stylish and elegant appearance, like railings, room dividers, and interior decorations.

Recycling potential

Brass is recyclable and is combined with high residual value, you can infinitely recycle it.

Features of CNC Brass Parts

Brass has excellent machinability, high shear resistance and appropriate tensile strength. Compared with some other metal materials, its processing speed is faster. During CNC machining, brass parts produce less chips and less wear on the tool. Brass has good impact resistance. During the machining process, even if it is impacted by a certain cutting force, it is not easy to deform or damage, which is conducive to ensuring the dimensional stability and machining accuracy of the parts.

Types of CNC Brass Parts for CNC Machining

C360 - free machining brass

Free machining brass, also known as c360, alloy 360, 360 brass, or free cutting brass. It consists of approximately 60-63% copper, 33%–37% zinc, 2.5%–3% lead and 0.35% iron. It remains one of the most versatile and commonly used grades of brass due to its excellent machinability.

C230 - red brass "nordic brass"

Red brass is composed of 85% copper and 15% zinc. Though it only has moderate strength it has a wide variety of uses such as water pipe service lines. This is largely due to its anti-rust properties.

C220 - commercial bronze

Despite the name, commercial bronze is considered a brass alloy due to its high copper composition. It is composed of 89-91% copper, with .05% lead or iron and the remainder zinc. It is often used in architectural parts such as, lighting fixtures, kick plates, hardware, push plates, and weather stripping.

C464 - naval brass

Naval brass consists of approximately 59% copper, 40% zinc, and 1% tin. Naval brass is most commonly used in marine construction because of its high corrosion resistance and hardness. The addition of tin also gives it a resistance to dezincification.
