Products Description
We specialize in the CNC machining industry, providing CNC machining complex anodized parts services. This process is suitable for parts requiring extremely high durability, excellent corrosion resistance, enhanced wear resistance, and specific electrical insulation properties. Our manufacturing services are widely used in industries such as aerospace, defense, medical devices, and robotics.
Process route
The manufacturing process follows a rigorously controlled sequence:
- Material Preparation: Selection and verification of raw material (e.g., 6061-T6, 7075-T6 aluminum) against specifications.
- CNC Machining: Multi-axis (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis) milling and turning operations to achieve the final part geometry from the billet.
- Deburring & Surface Finishing (Pre-Anodize): Removal of sharp edges and machining burrs to ensure a uniform surface finish before anodizing.
- Cleaning & Degreasing: Thorough chemical cleaning to remove all contaminants, oils, and fingerprints.
- Anodizing (Type II or Type III): Immersion in an sulfuric acid electrolyte bath under controlled electrical, temperature, and time parameters to grow the anodic oxide layer.
- Coloring (Optional): For Type II anodizing, immersion in a dye bath to achieve the specified color (e.g., black, red, blue).
- Sealing: Hydrothermal sealing of the anodic pores to lock in color and enhance corrosion resistance.
- Final Quality Inspection: Comprehensive checks including dimensional verification with CMM, coating thickness measurement (using eddy current principles), and adhesion tests.
Core Process
product key technologies

CNC Machining
Utilizes advanced multi-axis CNC centers capable of producing complex geometries, deep cavities, and thin-walled structures with tight tolerances. CAD/CAM programming ensures optimal tool paths for efficiency and accuracy.
Anodizing
It offers superior abrasion resistance (exceeding 5000 cycles on the Taber Abraser test for certain specifications) and increased surface hardness (up to 60-70 Rockwell C on the superficial scale). The process requires precise control of electrolyte temperature (often near 0°C), current density, and solution concentration.

About Materials

For CNC machining complex anodized parts, 6-series aluminum alloys such as 6061, 6063, and 6082 are preferred because they offer excellent anodizing properties, resulting in uniform oxide films and excellent dyeability.
If higher strength or corrosion resistance is required, 7-series alloys (such as 7075) can be considered, but these alloys tend to darken in color after oxidation and exhibit poor dye consistency.
Quality control

Process Inspection
During the processing stage, a coordinate measuring machine is used to check the dimensional accuracy of complex features; after anodizing, the corrosion resistance is tested by a salt spray tester, and an AI vision inspection system is used to monitor the uniformity of the oxide film.

Common defect handling
If color difference occurs, the electrolyte temperature and current density need to be standardized, and a sample should be taken before mass production; if there are scorch marks, the fixture contact design should be optimized to reduce the local current density; if orange peel texture appears on the surface, the material purity needs to be re-checked and the polishing precision in the finishing stage should be improved.
